The revenge of the real Emilys in Paris.

The plot of Emily in Paris is pretty simple: An American girl moves to France without speaking any french and ends up embroiled in way more drama than any real person could tolerate. Which is why when Emily still hadn’t learned the language by Season 2, we saw an opportunity for Duolingo - the world’s #1 language learning app - to steal the show. With a simple promotion launched on the day of the release of Season 2, we garnered 2 million views and over 90 thousand subscribers in just 48 hours. All on a shoestring budget.


The best part of all? The actual Emily in Paris - Lilly Collins - reposted the campaign!
